My school has been doing this since the beginning so we have some data for many years. Students could look at trends with our data and come up with some conclusions. Our school is Rye Jr. High, Rye, NH at http://www.ryejrhigh.org/roadkill .
This year, I planned to record their explanations of the data and post as enhanced podcasts. (I said that last year too!)
Ok, so instead we tried VoiceThreads!!!! - Each class has a link. (Still a work in progress.)
Levels of Participation - Roadkill Project
Entry - Trying the projects, learning how to follow protocol, sending the data in.
Exploratory - Hypothesizing, understanding variables, using your data, downloading data from other towns.
Research - It is suggested that students design a research project centered around an established hypothesis.
Still not sure how/where to start? Try this . . .
